享譽華人樂壇的著名指揮家、作曲家、演奏家瞿春泉，出生於上海音樂世家，是大陸國家一級指揮；曾任上海民族樂團首席常任指揮、新加坡華樂團、臺灣國樂團以及臺北市立國樂團首席指揮。從藝近70年來，遊走過兩岸四地多個專業國樂團、劇團，為他積累下許多寶貴的舞台經驗與文化體驗。

憑藉這些經驗與感受，讓他創作、改編過許多至今仍為人耳熟能詳的經典作品，形式包括合奏、絲竹室內樂、協奏曲、聲樂曲等，極富人文氣息及充滿各地音樂風格，是他作品的一大特色。

《淬煉—瞿春泉創作精選》是瞿君生平第一張創作專輯，精選他在上海、新加坡及臺灣擔任樂團要職期間創作的代表作品，由他親自指揮、詮釋，作品風格的精準掌握自不在話下，而更重要的是，我們也從專輯中的每一首樂曲，細細品味了他淬煉而閃亮的藝術人生。

As we live our lives, we record our feelings and experiences in letters, videos, pictures, and paintings. Musicians are a bit unique in this regard—they chronicle their inner lives in musical notes, and convey their feelings and experiences in symphonic movements. 

QU Chunquan, a renowned conductor, composer, and performer in the Chinese musical world, recognized by Mainland China as a National Class-One Conductor, was born in Shanghai in a long line of musicians. His musical duties include principal conductor of the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, and conductor of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, National Chinese Orchestra of Taiwan, and Taipei Chinese Orchestra. Active in the musical world now for nearly 70 years, QU has accumulated precious performing and cultural experience with orchestras and theatre groups throughout Taiwan, Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau.

Such precious experiences and feelings are entrenched deep in his original compositions and arrangements, works which have entered into the common knowledge of the people. His works range across ensembles, traditional Chinese music, concertos, and vocal works, and convey a rich mélange of human sentiment and local color.

The Very Best of QU Chunquan is the first album to collect the very best of QU's works performed under his conductorships in orchestras in Shanghai, Singapore, and Taiwan. Through his conducting and interpretation, he relates to us—though not in words—the style of these works, giving us exquisitely crafted creations that still glow with the heat of the artists crucible.
