序－紀錄當代國樂 激盪共鳴迴響

臺北市立國樂團（簡稱北市國）自創團以來，出版近百張唱片專輯，不僅提供樂友聆賞高水準及豐富的國樂佳作，也為臺灣國樂發展留下彌足珍貴的文化紀錄。

​創作是推進國樂發展不可或缺的動力，作曲家以學習經驗及生活歷練豐潤藝術作品，從而成為珍貴的文化資產。早年臺灣作品來源多來自前輩創作，之後則湧來大陸、香港、新加坡等地作曲家的作品。近年，臺灣年輕作曲家陸續投入國樂創作，創作手法融匯傳統與前衛，素材或有民族在地、或有中西混搭，演奏形式、難度及聲響 織體越趨複雜、艱深，而作品曲長也越來越長，都使國樂風格愈益豐富多元。
北市國重視國樂創作，常年委約作曲家為樂團譜寫新曲。近年更推出「一獨一創」、「協奏曲委創」計畫，邀請作曲家為獨奏家、樂團聲部首席量身創作，除了為國樂增加曲源外，也為作曲家、演奏家提供發表及挑戰新作的舞台。

《和諧‧鳴響》雙CD專輯精選北市國2017年至2021年間的音樂會現場錄音，收錄王辰威、李博禪、張朝、陳麒米、陸橒、瞿春泉、盧亮輝等作曲家作品，除了李博禪的《獨克宗》、張朝的《七彩之和》之外，其餘作品是北市國「一獨一創」、「協奏曲委創」計畫委託創作（編）的作品，也都是世界首演的演出錄音。期待《和諧‧鳴響》專輯問世，激起樂友對現代國樂作品的共鳴與迴響，與北市國一同見證當代國樂的發展。


Preface— Inspirational Resonances: A Chronicle of Contemporary Chinese Music
 
From its inception, the Taipei Chinese Orchestra (TCO) has published nearly one hundred albums of diverse and high-quality guoyue, or Chinese traditional music. Beyond the value it creates for musical art, it also leaves to posterity a record of Chinese traditional music in Taiwan.

For tradition to survive, it must be continually recreated; as composers enrich their works with their own study and experience, they lay down layer upon layer of cultural heritage. In the early days of Chinese music in Taiwan, works were mainly composed by senior musicians; later, composers came from China, Hong Kong, and Singapore. In the past few years, young Taiwanese composers have gradually taken up the reins of composing traditional music, in which they have incorporated both the traditional and the avant-garde, sometimes incorporating folk and local elements, other times a mix of Chinese and Western styles. As various forms and difficulties of performance and musical texture have become more complex and gained in depth, pieces have become longer, making more room for diverse styles within the traditional forms.

The TCO has always placed emphasis on creative works, and has thus consigned several composers on the creation of new works for the orchestra. And in recent years, it has promoted the“One TCO Soloist, One Commissioned Work”and“Concerto Commission”projects in which it invites composers to create works specifically for soloists and group principals. This both gives the TCO alternative sources of new works and provides composers and performers a stage on which to promote their work and challenge their abilities.

This two-disk album, RESONANCES, is a selection of the best live recordings of the TCO from 2017 to 2021. Of the notable composers included on its tracks are WANG Chenwei, LI Bochan, ZHANG Zhao, CHEN Chi-Mi, LU Yun, QU Chunquan, and LO Leung-Fai. All tracks are compositions/arrangements of the“One TCO Soloist, One Commissioned Work”and “Concerto Commission”projects, with the exception of LI Bochan's Dukezong and ZHANG Zhao's Chinese Orchestral Suite Seven Colors of Harmony, and all are world premier recordings.

RESONANCES is at once a chronicle of modern Chinese music and, as the name portends, a source of inspiration and resonances for lovers of music.
